Hello … I’m Lisa, the person, and energy behind Sage and Selenite.

I have been practicing spirituality for more than a decade and in 2019 took the plunge to start Sage and Selenite. Initially, it was an online outlet to sell my candles but developed into stocking mystical gifts and goodies and offering intuitive card readings. I gained my international certification in Crystal Therapy, which combines crystal and energy work, with transpersonal counselling. I have also completed my level 1 and 2 Reiki certification and find this complemented the crystal work perfectly.

A change in personal circumstances led me to realign Sage and Selenite’s focus. In November 2021 my health deteriorated due to an inflamed gallbladder and a blocked liver bile duct. After numerous weeks in the hospital, several failed procedures, and my life in danger, Doctors were finally able to clear the blockage and my recovery began. Unfortunately, during the next 12 months, I developed Pericarditis (swelling of the sack around the heart) and then Fibromyalgia (a pain disorder). Perhaps this was the universe guiding me back to my life path, but I’m sure there could have been a nicer way to do it!

The idea of a community-based learning centre had been floating around the back of my mind for years, after a traumatic trip to the A&E and the suggested diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, this idea started flooding my thoughts. I was unable to see my Doctor for 5 weeks and knew that I could not survive living as I was. I reached out to a good friend for a recommendation of a holistic healer, and he kindly gave me his appointment the following week, with the healer he saw regularly. That appointment changed my life and gave me hope, an hour with her had me feeling the best I had in years. And there so began the catalyst of my passion to explore and share the knowledge and modalities of holistic and spiritual health practitioners, here in NZ.

Holistic and Spiritual Health is becoming far more accepted and sought after in today’s world, especially given the current state of the modern health system. With so many modalities, practitioners, and options, I wanted to create a safe space and community to educate those interested and give those with experience a place to share their knowledge. So, Sage and Selenite Holistic and Spiritual Health Online Resource Centre was born.
